The environment of Malee Resort “Kamphaeng Phet”

The province Kamphaeng Phet covers a surface of 8,607 square kilometers. The province capital of the same name lies 358 kilometers north of Bangkok and has approx. 48,000 inhabitants. The city Kamphaeng Phet looks on a 700jährige history back and of the UNESCO to the list the world cultural heritage was taken up. The historical park of Kamphaeng Phet lies five kilometers outside of the province capital and consists of two parts - of one within the old Stadtmauer and one outside. First covers the Kamphaeng Phet national museum, wades to Phra Kaeo with its Pagode in the Sri Lanka style and wades to Phrathat. To the latter Wat Chang Rop, Wat Phra Non, Wat Phra Si Ariyabot, Wat Sing and Wat Awat Yai.

The Namtok Khlong Lan national park with pictorial Wasserfällen is appropriate 65 kilometers west for the province capital Kamphaeng Phet. Beautiful Wasserfälle are appropriate also in the Mae Wong national park, 79 kilometers of the province capital at the freeway Klonglan - for Umphang.

The province lies on historicalpregnant soil: Their bloom time had it of the late Sukhothai up to the recent Ayuthaya period.

The San Phra Isuan altar lies behind the law courts. The foundation is built from sandstone right parallelepipeds with high ones of 1,50 an m. Whereupon a bronze statue of the God Isuan stands, poured during the period of the governor Chaowas Sudlapha. 1886, during the reign of king Rama V., removed a German tourist head and hands of the statue and brought it to Bangkok. The then governor announced this incident to the king, who thereupon the return of the stolen articles arranged. Due to this incident by the statue a replication was poured, which was put to a citizen of Berlin museum in a well-meaning manner as gift at the disposal, where it is to be still visited today.

Outside of the Stadtmauern the historical park of Kamphaeng Phet still continues:

Wade to Chang Rop is a monastery with a large Pagode on a hill, carried by 68 elephants, in the proximity of the city. By a sandstone wall and originates from the early Ayutthaya or Sukhothai period is surrounded.

Wade to Phra Non is a reconditioned buddhistisches monastery with four clay brick walls. Therein one finds a source and a bath area. Behind the church a Vihara stands. The whole monastery plant is very worth seeing, because one finds this kind of the construction only very rare today.

Also north of Kamphaeng the Phet lain wade to Phra SI Iryabot is worth an attendance. On the underbody from Lateritstein in former times a large Vihara stood, and at the square building in the background once four Buddhastatuen were in different positions (resting, sitting, standing, constantly) attached. During a Rundgang one can see the well received standing Buddha within the rear range of the plant still.

From the monastery wade to Phra sing assumes one that it was built because of its mixed Sukhothai and Ayutthaya style over both periods.

Wade to Awat Yai is consisting a monastery of very large extent, of many Pagoden and Viharas. It is to 3 km because of the road after Amphoe Phran Kratai, approximately north of Saphan Khom gate. Its walls consist of bright sandstone, in whose center a oktogonale Pagode stands.

Sirichit park is a tourist center with sports sites, flower gardens and a market for local manual work. It is because of the bank of the river Ping opposite the Chakangrao hotel.

For nature lovers the Khao Son Forest park offers itself to the west of Kamphaeng Phet for moving. Same applies to the Mae Wong national park with its beautiful Wasserfällen and hot sources. Who would like to make trips that for mountain trunks (Yao, Meo and Karen) finds these in the Nam Tok Khlong Lan national park 40 km west the city.
